The Czech Baroque Trio is a musical ensemble which focuses on playing the music of the Baroque and Classical periods. It was founded by A. Rous, a Dutch violinist of Czech origin. Mr. Rous has been living in Amsterdam since 1971; he has studied mainly the original note transcripts and other materials related to the musical praxis of the XVIIth and XVIIIth century.
In 1993, Mr. Rous met Martin Jakubíèek, a cembalo and organ player, who suggested to contact Jan Škrdlík, a violoncello player. Thanks to the meeting in Naarden and the new contact, these three musicians formed a trio focusing primarily on the Czech composers of the Baroque period. Every six months the trio organizes a series of concerts - alternately, in the Czech Republic and the Benelux countries. The Czech Baroque Trio has also recorded two successful albums with the Matouš Studio recording company.
