The ensemble had its first performance for the Czech public at the 3rd annual international festival EFFATHA and internationally at the Czech Culture Days in Vienna in 1996. About a year later this Czech group widened to become a Czech-German ensemble, when to the group came Susanne Wagner, who teaches at the Masaryk University School of Arts and Sciences. She completed the contemporary alluring appearance of the ensemble, which made it their goal to familiarize listeners with the four basic components of Baroque music: the production for voice, wind, string and keyboard instruments. Stylistically Ardor is within the second generation of musicians, who are devoted to the historical interpretation of early music. Because Ardor's members play in other well-known ensembles, it creates a situation where upon they can artistically affect one another.
The ensemble is alluring with a diverse program and instrumental composition. Besides excellent techniques and deep theoretical knowledge, also emanates vitality and enthusiasm. Perhaps it is why music critics in connection with Ardor speak about "persuasiveness, masterfulness, and culturedness."
